just got a message from ERCOT to conserve energy from 3pm to 9PM...at 3:21pm.

1. My electricity bill has exploded to almost $500 this month for my 1400 sq ft. Home with new AC.

system. Where the fuck does that money go??? Our fucking grid is still worse than some failed shithole state. Fuck Greg Abut and his cronies!!

2. ask the crooked railroad commissioner. he's responsable for gas and oil.

texas doesn't want to go on the national grid to stay "independent", it's because there is so much crooked shit going on, that the lawsuits would never end.

It is embarrassing that the Energy Capital of the world can’t handle the electricity demand necessitated by extreme, but entirely predicable, weather conditions....both heat and cold.

During the freeze catastrophe, I found out that portions of the Panhandle and some along the Tx/La border are not on the Texas grid and had no issues while the rest of the state suffered for 5 days with no electricity or water in many cases. The billions of dollars damage was not enough to do anything other than cause State leadership to double down on blaming "green energy" for the problem when in fact it was a fossil fuel problem (gas).

5. And the tech bros are moving to Texas and Florida to save money on taxes.

Only to get gouged on insurance and utilities.

6. I added solar panels to my house and am pleasantly surprised.

My initial thought was it would be a break even at best or possibly having increased costs catch up to the payments on my system.

As it turns out I may save as much as 30% over last years bill.

Factoring in payments on the installation minus any tax incentives, the payments plus any electricity bought will be less than what I paid before.

Yet Gregg A-Butt punishes the solar and wind industries that are keeping the grid afloat and people like me who pay a $15 "redistribution fee" for any energy I produce AND if I generate more than I use the provider keeps the KWH to resell to others! All that and I still save money.
