Harris County reduced its number of polling places drastically. It's such a good idea for people to stand in long lines for many hours to vote.

Under the old system, on Election Day one could only vote at the voting location for their precinct. I testified in the Commissioner’s Court hearing on this change to the county wide voting system.. Now a Harris County voter can vote at any voting center instead at the voting location for such voter’s assigned precinct. County wide voting centers are far more flexible compared to precinct voting. Voting centers are located at convenient locations and can process large number of voters. If one voting center goes down, we can have voters sent to other voting centers.

However, the Secretary of State has complete control
of elections in Harris County now.

So... well... we'll see.
