Leahy mocks Trump's 'Colorado border' flub with a Sharpie and a tweet
During a speech in Pittsburgh on Oct. 23, President Trump touted the ongoing success of efforts to build a wall along the southern border.
"Were building a wall in Colorado, Trump declared amidst a list of states in which construction is underway. Were building a beautiful wall. A big one that really works, that you cant get over, that you cant get under, the Washington Post reported.
One problem: Colorado does not share a border with Mexico, a fact that politicians and the public were quick to point out. A flurry of tweets lambasted Trump's flub, including one from Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt.
Retweeting CNN correspondent Daniel Dale, Leahy added his own visual quip, a map of the United States with the border redrawn with a Sharpie around Colorado. In the picture, the word "New" in"New Mexico" is scribbled out.
