Ammonia leak in Mukilteo leads to shelter in place recommendation

MUKILTEO — Authorities advised people near an ammonia leak at a Mukilteo seafood plant to shelter in place Friday morning.

Multiple regional fire departments were on scene of the leak just off Mukilteo Speedway at Pacific Seafood, 4520 107th St. SW, according to the Mukilteo Fire Department. The department said “occupants within 600 ft should shelter in place until further notice.”

Nearby roads were also closed as authorities investigated the hazmat incident.

What caused the leak was unclear.
