(24,349 posts)wearing high boots and close-fitting, strong jeans as one should (to warn off ticks too), when walking in such environments, as one who is used to walking in dried grasslands, where the color of the dried grasses is almost the same color as the snakes. My dogs saved me several times by barking at a snake, that was so hard to spot in amongst the grasses.
