in support of global student initiatives calling on governments to act on climate change.
"Crowds of thousands of students blocked busy city streets in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane, with smaller gatherings also taking place in regional centres.
"Up to a thousand children packed Sydneys Martin Place at 1pm, chanting climate action now, while similar numbers walked up Melbournes Bourke Street, blocking off parts of the adjacent Spring Street, and descended on the Victorian parliament.
"Responding to a question about the planned protest from Greens MP Adam Bandt in Parliament earlier this week, Mr Morrison said he wanted more learning and less activism in schools and that he did not support schools being turned into parliaments.
Despite his urgings, students as young as seven turned up to protest about politicians failing to stop the climate crisis.

Acting PM Morrison (as we like to call him) is a Trump wannabe - he's made up what passes for his mind on climate change, and nobody's gonna change it. This government is bought and paid for by mining companies, and even though they're facing certain electoral defeat next year, they'll stick by their mining mates.
It hasn't occurred to them that some of these "kids" will be old enough to vote next year, and it's pretty clear what they'll have in their minds when they do.

As for the weather there, the sun is very strong this time of year. Sunblock, a wide brimmed hat, even a parasol I used. A big tear in the Ozone layer makes for burnt skin. So yes, Climate change along with prolonged drought, complicates things.
