Household Hints & Help
Related: About this forumHalf a dozen garter snakes found in my garage and basement.
They were outside in the summer and have moved.
Unfortunately/fortunately they got "trapped" by crawling onto the glue pads set for the mice by Terminex.
I don't want to spend $80 a month for a contract to prevent future little snakes (wildlife prevention).
I have been given recommendations of steel wool in any crevices found in the foundation of the house.
Do you have any other suggestions? BTW, I've been in the house for 60 years and this is the first time we've had snakes.
Thanks in advance.

(16,104 posts)we use moth balls, especially when we have heavy rain and flooding. Pick 'em up at most dollar stores.
And no moths were injured or abused, PETA people!

Bad idea.
Without the snakes, we got chipmunks. Lots of them.
And with the chipmunks, came the fleas.
Suggestion: garter snakes are good. They are harmless. And cute.
Don't do it.
