what kind of curtains?

I want cafe curtains in my new apt (on ground level).
I want privacy but I also want to let in as much sun/light as possible.

I'm wondering about the white lacy curtains that I see. They provide privacy during day, but in the night, when I have the lights on inside, could people could see in. I would think so.

thanks.

I would not go with lacy ones if you need privacy. Curmudgeoness Sep 2014 #2

White lacy ones for the day and behind them blackout for the night.

Not that complicated to set up.

I have lacy ones in my bathroom, but I also have a window shade to pull down at night. But in my kitchen, I use semi-sheer café curtains that have a lacy look with the embroidery on them, and they do provide privacy. I open them up in the day and close them at night. Remember though, café curtains will never completely cover the windows since part of the window will not be covered. I would not use them in the bedroom or bathroom without a shade to pull down at night.
