OP

(4,946 posts)1. Meh
Call me back when I can expand to 4TB of drive and 16gigs of RAM for around $600 (the "old" MBPs can replace the optical drive with a second hard drive for massive storage, or a large slow data drive to go with a smaller SSD like I run). I personally never suffer portability problems with my 2011 15".

(51,122 posts)2. So you got one?
Congrats. As you see in my other thread, I chickened out.
I did put an SSD in my three year old 17-inch MBP.
That and Mountain Lion is making it purr.
Retina will be next year for us.

We got a new 27" iMac last week.
Our oldest MBP is only 2 years old so no new one in our future for a while.
