My MacBook will be 6 years old in a few months. Just wondering if my old original iPod Touch will even work with the new Macs and the newer iTunes. It still has the original IOS on it, but the thing works perfect for my use -- a daily 45 minute walk or garden work listening to music. That's all I use if for.
Edit: I'm posting this because I'm probably going to need a new Mac soon and don't want to also buy a new iPod.

In fact recently I read a blog post where someone got an original iPod to sync to the newest iTunes.
They had to chain a number of cables to the old fashioned FireWire port on the iPod, but iTunes had full communications with it. Even showed an image of the iPod in the application window.

(18,470 posts)In the years before the AT&T exclusivity ran out it became something I didn't leave home without. No way would I use AT&T, the coverage sucks here in Iowa. Once Verizon became able to sell it and I became upgrade eligible I bought an iPhone 4.
