Related: About this forumIs it worth buying Canon ink for my printer?
I just bought a new printer and have used up the ink that came with it. The authentic Canon ink is twice as expensive as knockoff ink. Is there any advantage to using Canon ink?

I've found off brand or reconditioned inks are unpredictable - can have uniformity issues

Office Depot, Office Max, etc. Ive never bought any unknown brands from any online marketplaces such as Amazon.
I should say I mostly do generic household printing, but I did use the store brands for both wedding and funeral pamphlets (100-200 prints) and they were just fine.
You could always try it just once and see how it works for you.
Edited to add: Not sure if makes a difference but my Canons have always been ones with individual color tanks.

but I can't change it until it runs out. It is the best printer I have had since the old lb&w ones.
