Question about removing music from iPad

My plan was to keep my music on the iPod and not put it on the iPad. But in spite of telling it to to, it downloaded all my music to my iPad. Now I would like to remove it so I can install pages (not enough room).

Is there a way to "bulk" remove music—all of it at once or even just entire albums at once? I know I can remove individual tracks, but that is really tedious. And, I want to keep it off the iPad and keep it on the iPod. Must be a way to do that.

1. I'm not sure about this, but can't we do selective restores from iTunes?

If so, do a back-up of your device then wipe it clean. Do a restore but choose to not restore the music.

I *think* you can do that, but I'm not certain.

3. Do an update from your computer and UNCHECK music

Be sure to check all the material (apps, books, movies) that you DO want to keep.

That's what I did when I realized that my iPad didn't have room for both my music and my TV shows. I deleted the music from the iPad, since it's the superior option for video, and put all the music on the iPhone.

4. Thanks! That's exactly what I was trying (not very successfully) to describe.

You described it way better than I did.

I'm not sure specifically what I did, but I now have Pages on my iPad. The puzzling thing is, I still have all the music on it even though it looked like I removed it.

7. If it's not checked, it's not on the device right now; if checked, it will be added :-)

I know what you mean; all my music is on my little devices (iPhones); my iPad is for photos and typing!
