Does anyone here run virtual pc?

it's my understanding - which very well could be wrong - that the download for virtual pc itself is free.

BUT, you have to buy the windows os and windows versions of office, etc. for the virtual pc environment.

what else (or instead) do I need to know or ask?

You'll need Parallels or VMWare Fusion (both of which require a copy of Windows) for that. WMWare Fusion requires that you partition your Apple hard drive through its built-in Boot Camp feature.

I used Virtual PC when I had a Power PC Mac G3. The price included a copy of Windows XP. You can probably find a 30-day free trial, but you may have to buy a copy of Windows for it.
