Base model: 2880x1800 15.4 Retina Display, USB 3, HDMI out, 2 Thunderbolt outs (adapters for Firewire coming), 2.3GHz quad-core i7, 8GB of RAM, GeForce Gt 650M with 1GB of VRAM, 256GB flash storage.
They got rid of the optical drive. Good riddance. Now MBPs are 25% thinner.
My MBP will be three this year. Time for an upgrade.
Sadly, although I doubt Apple will admit it today, the 17-inch model may be history.

(28,017 posts)256 of flash? Not so sweet. I actively use 180 gigs. I don't like edging up to the limit like that.
Mountain Lion upgrade for $20? SuperSweet.
Siri for iPad? Me likey.

The costs of the new Air and PowerBook are just about $100 more than they were.
Pretty amazing stuff.
I sure miss Jobs doing the presentation, though.

(51,122 posts)The pricing of the 15-inch Retina display is pretty much the same as the former top of the line.
I've had two 17-inch PowerBooks and two 17-inch MacBook Pros.
Pretty sure I can live with the smaller screen.
