Technicians who arrived to fix a malfunctioning cash machine in the Indian state of Assam got a shock when they opened it up.
Notes worth more than 1.2m rupees (£13,300; $17,600) had been shredded - and the suspected culprits are rats.
Police said the rodents probably entered the machine through a hole for wiring, the Hindustan Times reported.

They got to the cash, so that was a win. But they didn't bring it back -- they ate it.
Sometimes happens when you're training duck hunting dogs, too.

when they lost a bunch of hash and it was found next to a wasted rat in the basement "with a big smile on his face" who had made it into a nest.

A mouse built such a huge nest in the bell housing of my pickup truck it destroyed my clutch. My insurance covered all except deductible which surprised me. I didn't even know there was a hole but my mechanic said there's a very tiny hole to prevent moisture build up.
