What was the best thing or things you bought at a yard sale for a buck or less?

Do not include the free box, we can do another post for those.

I bought a set of 7 soup large ceramic cups for a dollar. Big coffee drinker and I use for cereal and yogurt. I wash at least 3 a day. Bought an old baseball at a sale that wasn't out on a table, just sitting on a shelf. Held it up and the guy said a quarter. Turned out to be a "dead ball" era item from about 1900. Sold next day to a collector I know for Thirty bucks and he thought it was the best buy he made all year. A 4-cup Pyrex measuring cup I use at least twice a day for 50 cents.
I resell at the local antique mall, but find so many useful things I use everyday, dirt cheap.

Had little transistors, capacitors, lights, buzzer, electric motor, etc. Hours of fun for a curious kid in 1970.

with rawhide straps for 50 cents. Can't remember name of the designer, but saw similar creations for $300 online. You can get a knock-off now for $60.

Several years ago and it's still going strong. Hardly ever use the oven anymore. They even sell cookware esp for use in toaster ovens!

Haven't seen much Atari stuff for a long time, except I recently scored a working Atari 1200XL with basic cartridge for $5.00

I also have a huge box of Macintosh SE/30 stuff I bought for a dollar, which included a working SE/30.

My collection of $1.00 or less film cameras is embarrassingly large. Dozens? I'm afraid to count. I own pretty much every film camera I lusted after as a kid, including one identical to the first camera my parents bought me when I was ten years old, a little 127. I also have the first 35mm SLR I wanted so so badly for my high school photography class, a camera that neither me nor my parents could afford at the time, even though I'd "reasonably" set my sights on a Rollei rather than a Nikon.

None of this shit is really worth anything now but it makes me happy.

Paid $1.00 back in 2000 at a garage sale. The on/off switch got stuck on-on a couple years ago but we just plug it into a power strip.

I swear that thing can suck a bowling ball thru a garden hose.

It sits next to a a 5yr old $200 Hoover bought brand new. On-off switch quit working altogether 2yrs ago. I'll put a new switch on the Hoover whenever I get out of this dsmned nursing home.

The Mighty Mite came with all accessories& the box.

I'll be damned!!! Just saw some of it's relatives on eBay for $50-$70. Most of them were more angular, I think, but one was even the same color, burnt orange?

What part of OH you at? In general, tell if you want. I'm Northwest of Dayton in darke county.

Not a native. Family moved back on 1964 after mom met an airmen stationed at Elsworth. He's from KY but his disabled dad lived in dayton then.we lived on Oxford Ave. for 2 yrs. Moved out because of neighborhood changing after riots in Dayton in '66&67'. Jefferson School got kind of rough.

Take care.

I have a big old floor fan I bought for 50 cents and use it all summer. Way more powerful than those new plastic models. Even came with a electric tape repair to the cord.

I was able to move back to Michigan a few years ago and brought back my love from Ohio with me. She was a Findlay girl, where I lived for about 8 years.
