Mini-skirt turbulence at Skymark Airlines Shinichi Nishikubo (centre), president of Japan's Skymark Airlines, with flight attendants at Haneda Airport in Tokyo on March 7. AFP
TOKYO
A Japanese budget airline has flown into rough air over its decision to outfit flight attendants in revealing mini-skirts, drawing criticism that it could invite sexual harassment.
Skymark Airlines came under fire from the cabin crews labor union, which said the super-short skirtwith a distinctively swinging 60s lookbarely covers wearers thighs.
Were concerned that the design of this uniform may cause problems, including sexual harassment, the Japan Federation of Cabin Attendants said in a statement.
The airline is saying the uniform is meant to attract more customers, but this shows the company is treating women like a commodity, it added.

OP
Retro "Fly me" uniforms. Can't wait to see what they look like on the male flight attendants.

Remember the six-inch stilettos "the girls" wore in the last picture we saw of these?

Would look better with tights. That uniform doesn't look practical. A person can't bend or reach or it will hike up and show your underwear. We did wear our skirts that short in the 60's. But it was a choice not a dictate. It was High School, not a job. We wouldn't have had to help evacuate a plane in that outfit.

Oh? No men in that job? More retro 60s nostalgia. Good for the Japan Federation of Cabin Attendants for call the company on this bullshit.

I think Japan has obscenity statutes against showing your panties in public, which would happen if you went to work as a flight attendant in this dress.
