Many don't think abortion should be allowed even in the case of rape. The Pope says rape is not a valid reason. It is just amazing they could publicly take that stand.



Abortion is not a men vs women issue, though. The genders are split equally. If you look at Gallup polls, when tend to belief abortion should be always legal or always illegal. Men tend to be in the middle, with a trimester system. However, women have a majority vote in both parties, like 56-44. Many men are independents. If men want to win the republican primary, they have to take the extreme abortion views. They also have to hold them in office if they want re-election.

The problem is our 2-party system.

And men shouldn't even GET to have any power to enforce their opinion on abortion either way, since they'll never have to deal with the potentially life-threatening condition of pregnancy. Ugh. In a perfect world...
