Who pays for the prenatal or postnatal care? Surely not a couple working minimum wage who can barely afford their rent. Who provides healthcare and funds medical bills for single women with no place to live? Or a married couple who struggle to afford the children they already have? Who assists the millions of children in foster care still waiting to be adopted? Who helps them when they hit the street at 18 with no money or life skills?
She continued who will find affordable birth control? Healthcare and education?
Thats the parents responsibility, the anti-abortionist cautiously responded.
And theres the money shot. Heres a wakeup call you dont get to come into my inbox and shit all over my Sunday with your over-inflated Messiah complex with your Facebook profile filled with delusions of superiority declaring yourself to be on the side of life, when in reality your compassion stops just inside the vaginal canal.
Dont embarrass yourself and pretend that you give a flying f**k about what happens once a foetus is born, or about the people who arent equipped to raise them. Dont pretend you give a shit about children when you arent prepared to do a damn thing about the millions of struggling families on welfare, or the millions of children in foster care..

(5,797 posts)Whenever I can, I post about how local taxes will need to go up, a lot, and very soon, to acquire land to build new schools. We already have overcrowding in DeKalb county.

(38,603 posts)I like this quote by Sister Joan Chittister, too.
And a Christian friend of mine posted this on their FB page. I thought it was excellent, as well. Their hypocrisy is glaring.
Thanks for sharing both of those!

(40,539 posts)Republicans/conservatives/supposed pro-lifers are in favor of killing living babies and have done so.
Pro-life is a myth.
The supposed pro-lifers cared naught when the state of Texas (republican gov, republican Prez) deliberately killed living baby Sun Hudson against the mother's wishes because he was an inconvenience to the state.
It is not a matter of life to the supposed pro-lifers.
It is a matter of control.

(7,133 posts)"What so ever you do to the least of my children, that you do unto me."
That's children, as in after they are born.
Republicans care little about these children, only to the extent that they make up a poor, uneducated mass of workers who can be relied on to perpetuate the reality of economic slavery.
They know that ignorance and despair can be effectively used if it can harnessed and direct it at their enemies.
All they have to do is make these people think it's someone else's fault.
They're very good at that; fanning the fires of resentment until it burns with hatred for other people who are brown, or black, or liberal, or refugees, or Muslims or whatever the Republicans want them to hate.
This is the extent of Republicans concern for America.

(7,021 posts)That interest will quickly dwindle when those same kids become veterans. Then they become a financial liability.
Not enough money for the veterans because they need it for their next giveaway to the bone spurred cowards with medical deferments from that generation.
You know who they are, the ones that wrap themselves in the flag or worse wrap themselves around the flag.
Patriotism to them is preaching to others how to be "true" American Patriots.
I am a veteran, I followed in my grandfather's service in the Army in WW I. Then my dad's service in the Navy in WW II. Then my USAF service in the Vietnam war. And finally two of my kids in the Army during Desert Storm.

(17,047 posts)They feed them to the meat grinder of war or they get tax money to keep them in prison. Or, if the child is attractive, maybe she can be trafficked. A backward culture like ours requires some excess population to sacrifice to our bloody gods.

(2,067 posts)It's outrageous what voters have and will continue to overlook as long as they think their candidate is more likely to install anti-choice Supreme Court justices.
I am apalled that 40% of women are anti-choice, but even more apalled that they let that view override all other issues by willingly putting a pussy grabber in the White House.
As long as there's a glimmer of hope that For is overturned (or at least Republican politicians convince voters there is), that is a huge block of voters we will never have a chance with no matter how many other issues they probably agree with us on.

It's all about money to them. Period.
