Apparently the mother rented a hotel room. The men were 27 and 33.

The mother no longer has custody (not sure what happened to her, I imagine she's also in prison).

16. I've been reading some more

and the theory is they can't help their attractions, so it's a way to separate the behavior from the attraction - and calling it something that they chose (this is what they prefer) will get them help.

I'm having a hard time thinking that you can't change this attraction - especially if you had some reason for arrested development in childhood, and have never acted on said 'attraction.'

I have worked with sex offenders over the years - though not explicitly on treatment (they'd appear for substance abuse issues - or something else). I don't know. I do want people to have support not harming others. But I also believe in change. (Not everyone changes, but I believe in the possibility).

sexually abused as children. They become sexualized in their development. Very difficult to "undo" their sexual preferences even with extensive therapy. Almost impossible.

But, even though most abusers were once abused, not all abused people become abusers. Many people who were abused as children do not become abusers.

Its been proven abused kids sometimes dont become abusers.

I was victimized by a pedo piece of shit.

And my home was a horror show.

Year after year in school I was bullied and the teachers stood by and let it happen even in class.

Went to long term psych hospital and got hurt there too.

In a short term hospital I got raped because the staff outed me ( I am transgender)

But regardless I will defend innocent and young kids, and I adore my cat. And love all animals except fleas ,ticks and mosquitoes

Although I have no idea why they would from a legal standpoint. They must have gotten some kind of plea deal or the mother could have nailed them in court in her own plea deal.

The evidence sounds largely circumstantial. At least from the article. I suppose you can match the dna equivalent of a bacteria or virus and say they are the same strain, etc, but it sounds like a long road to explain in court.

But no eye witnesses, no physical evidence (other than the std's). The mother could be torn apart in court. The science , chain of custody, and procedures used could be challenged.

But pleading guilty eliminates all doubt and ends the process cold. Good for all concerned; especially the girl.
