I seem to have lost the ability to spell.

Big words, small words. Piece looks wrong to me, shouldn't it be peice (as an example). I had Covid for the second time back in March, I wonder if that is the cause?

I was born with it. It’s on the language spectrum. Hand writing, spelling and reading.
While I majored in psychology, I learned about it from one of my Anthropology professors.

But I notice it. When I type a word, it just seems wrong right away, so I have to google the word.

That prof explained to me, if the message is conveyed, the spelling is correct and can be called alternative spelling. The bad part for me is handwriting. I can’t read my own. Years of practice didn’t help. Same with spelling, but I have no problems with reading.

Also, the rule is: i before e, except after c, or when pronounced like a, as in neighbor or weigh. There are several other exceptions in that rule, but I only know it thus far.
