'the offer' on prime. story of how the godfather got made.

pretty interesting bit of movie history. 10 parts!
written by the producer, who was a coder at rand corp who decided he wanted to be in movies and just moxied his way in. he came up w the idea for hogan’s heroes, and parlayed that into a shot at paramount. he got it cuz no one else would touch it.

The book, Leave the Gun, Take the Cannoli: The Epic Story of the Making of The Godfather" by Mark Seal, is the definitive source for the story of this movie. It's a great read.

since i had no idea there was a big story, i’m enjoying it.

I thought it was very entertaining and interesting. I took it all with a grain of salt though.

Peace

that it was -al ruddy’s experience- i think was the wording, that there were liberties.
i read up a bit, and ya know, the beef is w the mafia bits. everyone else is- oh no, there were no wise guys. i take that w a grain of salt, too. i think the mob had it’s fingers in everything in nyc in those days. sorta vaguely recall some of the stories of ppl being pissed off about it.

it was entertaining, and i was sad when it was over. loved bettye.

can't find it, even though sites say it is available through Paramount+, which I have.

Can anyone check to see if it is streaming anywhere? Not to rent, I already pay enough for multuple streaming services.

What's weird is I was able to start watching it the other night on Netflix, but after pausing to walk the dog, it wouldn't resume. WTAF?
