When they learn about a treatment that can restore Ptolemy’s dementia-addled memories, it begins a journey toward shocking truths about the past, present and future.”
Samuel Jackson performance demonstrates a remarkable range and subtlety that isn’t often on display in his previous work. The teenage caretaker, Dominique Fishback is a wonder. The chemistry between the two is a pleasure to watch.
The story, almost a tall-tale, was written by Walter Mosley, an author known for crime fiction. Several of his novels feature a detective named Easy Rawlins, one of which became a movie, ‘Devil in a Blue Dress’ starring Denzel Washington. Mosley also served as a producer for Ptolemy.
