My opinion:

OA's impact will meet each viewer through their individual knowledge of history & metaphysics lenses/filters used to define each viewer's conceptions of "ultimate reality." Eternal life is the foundation belief of the OA series.

For example, a viewer who had a near-death, out-of-body experience will see OA through a different lens/ filter than those who haven't.

Other examples are viewers with knowledge of US CIA/DOD MKUltra human mind control https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_MKUltraexperiments or have explored Eastern Philosophies that teach about the Astral World. http://yogananda.com.au/aoy/beyond_death_1.html

My lenses/filters include the above as well as often contemplating or wondering in my youth if All That Is, Ever Was, or Ever Will Be were created in a flash, like printing a vinyl record and that we are collectively experiencing 'here/now' because that is where our 'record player needle' or perception is. Maybe the dinosaurs are doing their dinosaur thing on another groove, simultaneously? Another filter: I have read Jane Roberts works to include Oversoul Seven which I suspect the creators of OA have read. And "Autobiography of a Yogi" by Paramahansa Yogananda, the book given by Steve Jobs to all who attended his funeral as a parting gift. I can't anticipate how someone with little knowledge will perceive OA.

I fast forwarded through parts that were too graphic for my comfort zone or tediously dragged out. I didn't lose the story line by doing so. Seriously, the very few porn scenes, but one within the first 15 minutes of Episode 1, add absolutely nothing to the story. Are movies now obligated to pop X-rated content without any prelude, like a bad editing cut?

Season 2 ended in a manner that left the door open for continuing seasons.

OA is very well done, acting & directing excellent.

Very thought provoking.

Lots of social issues addressed.

3. I just finished Part 2 the other night

I'm not a fan of contemporary fantasy stories. But I watched this one and will watch Part 3 if it ever comes about.

I found the finger wiggling and hissing out of place. Of all the possibilities for creating motions for a very important part of a story that leans towards taking itself seriously these struck me as silly. But that's the only thing that felt out of place. I also fast forwarded through some scenes that made me uncomfortable without any loss.

I found it a good change of pace from the many police murder mysteries offered these days. I'm glad a friend suggested it.
