Rake

I just finished Series 1 of the Australian show "Rake" on Netflix. I highly recommend it. If you liked "Boston Legal" I think you will enjoy "Rake".

Here's a trailer for Series 1

Have multiple streaming services, but if you liked Rake, Acorn is worth the price for all the Australia/New Zealand series along with the UK stuff.

Also adult situations. Cleaver Green is just a boy who can't say no.

Also one of the funniest and truest credit runs ever put on film.

Nice to know there's no extra charge now on Amazon, but not when the last series was first released.

Have to admit that Rake can be a gateway to wanting more Aussie shows. Their wry humor and knack for plot twists elevate what could otherwise be formulaic.

I love it but it helps if you know a little "Australian" or at least get closed captions to understand the dialog. Richard Roxburgh is simply hysterically great.

As noted earlier, watch a lot of Aus/NZ shows on Acorn. Just like watching UK series, you'll see actors pop up in different shows and you get a feel for their work and the quality of the productions.

One nice thing is the Aus/NZ shows tend to have 8 or 10 episodes where the UK ones often are only 4 or 6 shows per series.
