Addiction & Recovery
Related: About this forumI could feel the wheels getting wobbly the last couple weeks. My thinking was
more rigid and my behaviors more ritualized. Going back to work made it worse, and anticipating working with the tough boss this weekend, I wound myself up so tight that I broke. Ate everything, got rid of a bit, ate some more. Then a lot more. Since I am terrible at purging odds are my pants wont fit next week, which is bad because I dont have any more. Im going to try and take my power back. Just because last summer went like this doesnt mean this one has to. On the plus side, I finished a painting.

(10,191 posts)I'm not too sure what "whack" is, but when I run low, taking a walk, especially before lunch or supper, seems to help me get the groove back. Some of it may be posture..... But a probiotic might help, too.

(224,432 posts)I realize that they're probably not meeting in person now, but there are other options. That's one way to get the support you need and ideas from others who have been where you are now.
I'm in AA (11 years), but I started out also going to Alanon and OA with my sponsor. She had an overeating issue and I had just the opposite problem, when I drank, I ate nothing which got to be dangerous. I really liked the others and it helped to get suggestions and hear how they handled things.
I'm much more familiar with AA, but they have Zoom meetings now that in-person meetings are prohibited. I have a friend who's very active in OA and she listens to meetings over the phone most mornings. And those are ways you could quietly check things out to see if it might be helpful for you.
Don't get discouraged, we all have setbacks. If we could access DU.2, I posted a thread here saying how discouraged I was. But I didn't give up and you shouldn't either...
