Well, I survived another weekend!

I still struggle a bit on weekends, but I've managed to get through them without drinking. For the most part they seem to be getting better. But my new motto is TGIM!

I have been without a hangover on Monday for 15 years. It won't be long before you don't even think about it any more.

It's a nice thought but it doesn't always work out that way ... there are people who still 'think about it' every day for the rest of their lives.

However, as general rule ... it gets easier.

Just sayin'

The one that always got me was "you can't get drunk if you don't have the first one" duh...
when you feel like having a drink it's your body telling you to get to a meeting.. The only two times you need to go to a meeting is when you want to go... and when you DON'T want to go
YMMV

I'm not knocking it, it's just that SMART Recovery is more my thing.

https://www.smartrecovery.org

It's a scientifically based recovery organization. I like that it isn't religious heavy. I'm an agnostic, so that appealed to me. If you're at all curious, I participate in a zoom meeting on Saturday mornings. Anyone's welcome to check it out. You can just observe if you want. If you're interested, let me know and I can send you a link. It's a great bunch of very supportive people.
