(224,437 posts)What's helped me is to realize that I've only got to make it through the next 24 hours - or less - and to remember to breathe. Times change and I can, too. Talking to someone who's been there also helps and that's exactly what you did. Good going!

(224,437 posts)And, if anything, that's a distraction. One saying that helped me when I was struggling was "Move a muscle, change a thought." It didn't matter what or how simple it was, that was a distraction. And it gave me more time.
