1. I'm 3 1/2 years sober - giving it up was one of the hardest things I've ever endured.

Not because I missed it. It was the detox that went on for over a week which was a horrible experience - SO horrible just the thought of it makes me want to stay sober.

Making the decision to stop and detoxing are the most excruciating events. You chose to live.

Glad you made it. I was a heavy drinker but after my family did an intervention, I went into rehab. Fortunately I just quit cold turkey with no side effects. Been sober for almost 6 years. I have to admit, I thought about booze all the time for almost 5 years. Now I almost never think about it.

I can report that it seems to have killed my occasional urge to drink. The warning on it says avoid alcohol use so I quit, but I'm surprised I haven't been tempted. It is supposed to suppress the urge to drink.

I'm a sample of one but if anyone having problems has Celexa recommended, maybe this will help.

Stick with it. Recent studies have shown that there is no safe amount of alcohol use.

I feel so much better in my body, mind and emotions. Therapy is a big help too!

that, assuming ethyl alcohol had not already been discovered and only recently synthesized, it would end up on the list of Schedule I drugs, having no useful medical purpose.

I can comprehend the occasional use of a toxin to get a little buzz.

I cannot comprehend adults who have lived for awhile, putting themselves in the position to maim or kill innocent other people.
