My heart went into failure and I now have an LVAD

I'm currently waiting for a transplant and thought I would continue to share my experience with other people. I know I have been through a lot that has significantly changed my life, but I'm still here so hopefully my story can help someone else make it through some rough patches.

It's been tough, but I'm used to the LVAD, not that you really get used to having an external device hooked into your body through a powerline.

If anyone is interested, here is an IAMA from a while back during the first "phase" of my heart failure: IAMA Man Who Was Given 2 Months To Live When He Left The Emergency Room. AMA.

And here is the one after my LVAD placement: IamA 43 year old man who had a LVAD heart pump placed 8 months ago AMA!

I never heard of an LVAD before.

Best of luck to you in the future, toddwv!
