Anyone have experience with Jardiance?
It's to lower glucose levels. My levels were fine until I had severe back pain and I went from a 6.3 to 7.4 A1C. My doctor said it won't go down by itself once the pain is gone. I'm not sure about that.

No side effects, lowered A1C but couldn't say by how much (he takes five different drugs.
Maybe it just isn't the drug for you.
It's true that just a little bit of mild movement--consistently--often is all it takes. For a while my husband's blood sugar dropped to below 120 *if* he would get off his ass a few times a day and walk upstairs, then back down.
He was bored with this "regimen" so gradually forgot about it. Reminders=nagging.

(27,117 posts)To satisfy my deductible at this time it'll be $550 for 90 days worth. After that it'll be $21, but it'll be the same next January unless I find a better prescription drug plan with better coverage. I've got savings, but to take this long term will drain that. I'm 78, but you never know.

Lots of nutrients are said to bring glucose down, as does walking for just 2 minutes after meals.

(27,117 posts)but I'll have to pay $550 for a 90 days supply to satisfy the deductible (after that it'll be $21). I'll end up paying $550 for that drug each year until I meet my yearly deductible. My plan doesn't have an affordable alternative. I'm debating whether to take it. That's a chunk of change. I'm wondering whether my A1C will go back to normal by itself since this back pain has subsided. My doctor says it won't.

it will lower your sugar levels.

(7,080 posts)will raise your blood sugar. That is what happened, and it will come down once the pain, illness, or stress is removed. I am convinced med schools spend ONE DAY teaching diabetes and every Primary doc I have seen is where my conviction has come from. Just my take as a 27-year diabetic.

(27,117 posts)I suspected as much. There was an interval before my back pain returned when it appeared my levels were slowly getting back to normal. I'll keep this in mind. I'd like to try before I begin taking this medicine. I was doing well before.
