Suggestion: If you are struggling with high blood pressure

May I suggest an alternative might be to speak to a nephrologist.

I've fought high blood pressure for years. It seemed no medicines had any effect on it. I'm on six different medications, and I would still get scary readings. My doctor referred me to a nephrologist, and his suggested changes have lowered my BP dramatically. An MD friend told me nephrologists are experts on bp

I could have saved literally years of fear if I'd had the referral earlier.

Maybe a nephrologist can tell me what to do differently.

which went up when I was trying to run interference for elderly parents in FL all the way from NM. When that ended, blood pressure drugs started to put me on the floor so I went off 'em.

I agree with the OP that referral to a nephrologist for blood pressure that doesn't respond well to the usual medications should be done sooner rather than waiting for creatinine levels to climb.

My blood pressure was way too high to fix with diet. If I could lose a bunch of weight, I could fix it, but I'm currently waiting for a hip replacement and can't exercise, so there's currently no way for me to lose weight.

So far, nothing seems to help. I thought when I lost all this weight, it would go back to normal. I went from being over 220 lbs to my current weight of 92 lbs. Still fighting my BP.

I don't think anything other than *rump being dead or in jail, and R's being a dead party is gonna help it long term. Never had the problem before *T got selected as Prez. So yes, I blame it all on him and R party!

There are so many meds. Two doesn’t even scratch the surface. You don’t have to give up.

I have a feeling we’ll do really well in the 2024 election, but that won’t provide relief until January 2025. And who knows when Trump will face prison time?

I’m heartened that the “moderates” in the House seem to have finally had enough of the MAGAts and are striking back.
