holy cow. i guess i need to start recording my doc visits.

i’ve been rly, rly sick lately. the pcp i was seeing quit. i asked an er nurse who was good, and i made an appt w that person. had an initial visit w that guy. i’ve been frustrated since, as he went back on the 1 thing he said he wd do for me.
it is a work of ABSOLUTE FICTION.
detailed notes of an exam. he never touched me.
i wasnt weighed, might have taken my bp, dont remember. def didnt do a pulse ox, didnt take my temp. but there they r.
i called the ombudsman, and waiting for a call back. but holy shit.

I had few doc encounters when lived in Chicago, and nothing but GOOD when in DC (and now MD, including Hopkins.)

2 occasions in DC (Georgetown) to give birth; today's anniversary of one, younger daughter's birthday. BOTH easy-peasy!!

i’ll need to see what they billed for that.

I was having a foot issue and he diagnosed me with plantar fasciitis without touching my foot, looking at my foot (except glancing at it while I was wearing a sock) or watching me walk. In the visit notes on MyChart he went into great detail about how my foot looked, felt, moved, etc. I was furious.

I hope you feel better soon!

It's amazing how you think you'll remember stuff, but later the dates and details fade from memory.

Saw a new endocrinologist. The tech took my BP - 147/84. I commented it is usually not that high.

Checked the digital record that evening - she put down 137/84.

Another doctor told me Naprosyn (Aleve) is not an anti inflammatory drug. "It's an NSAID, not an anti inflammatory.

NSAID = Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drug.

Last year a doctor gave me a 90% positive diagnosis of ALS. No signs of that.

Most of the physical exam stuff goes back to electronic medical record symptom prompts. The rules have changed, but takes awhile to filter down to practitioners.

as an example.

There are hundreds of diagnosis codes that involve the stomach. Heck, there are even codes for an injury on a roller coaster vs. at a roller-skating rink, although they aren't used much. So, yeah, I can see AI used to pick from 69,000+ diagnosis codes.

Most are DOs. Seem more hands on and listen to what I have to say. Willing to research what they don’t know.
Could just be me, but I now look for them first. My family doc is the best. She is great

She never did the tests, never touched her, did no checkup, billed Medicare for all of that! Also, she was rude.

When my dog got a rattlesnake bite on her paw, vet sat about 15 ft from my dog and asked me questions

She never got closer than that - to even see what the bite looked like.
