Diabetes and kidneys

Hi,

I need to join a diabetes group on line to find out about kidney disease. I haven't been able to find any, and I was curious if anyone here would know of a good one or two that I could join. Thanks

I've been a Type I diabetic for about 15 years so I know what you are going through. If your urine is dark, cloudy or foamy then you need to get into your physician quickly.

If you are just having occasional pain, then I recommend the cranberry pill flush that is mentioned. I was able to get some relief from the pains within about three days.

Good luck and please follow up with me to let me know how things are going. I've been on several roller coaster rides myself with weight swings of nearly 70 pounds and am using an insulin pump, so I've learned much over the years.

I would also check the American Diabetes Association website at www.diabetes.org .

I have microalbumin in my urine, I'm on an ARB. I do have bubbles in my urine, is that what your talking about???

Technically, my diabetes is in remission, I'm on a low carb diet, lost 97 lbs. My fasting went from 180 to 107, my a1c went from 12 to 5.9. I'm not on any meds or insulin, at least not right now.

Thanks.

Great job on getting your numbers down! Hope you don't mind me joining the thread, so I can follow.

I'm a T2 for a year now. Controlling with low-carb and exercise.
I need to learn what to watch for also.

Sometimes I have lower back pain, but I can't be sure it's kidneys or just from standing too long at work.
My blood pressure was a bit elevated recently and I know that's not good for kidneys, so I have been working
on getting that down also. Stressed out, going through divorce, long hours at work, etc...
