I can't hear most smoke detectors because the tone frequency is too high.

NFPA recommends a tone of 520hz. Anyone know what brands might qualify?

Thanks in advance.

verbal/spoken alarm?

We recently (~5 years ago) replaced all of ours with a smoke/carbon monoxide detector by Kidde (don't know the model number off the top of my head) and it alternates beeps with a slightly robotic female voice "FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!" when it goes off from smoke or "DANGER! DANGER DANGER!" for carbon monoxide.

Is offering smoke detectors. They put mine in free, 10 year, no battery replacement.

Carbon monoxide detectors at your local fire department. They should be able to answer.

I'm a light sleeper and don't need a piercing alarm. Or so I think.
