Who at DU has looked into the new OTC hearing aids?

What have you learned?

I have some flexible spending account money to spend by the end of the year.

Thank you.

Naturally, if your case really requires a prescription model, go that route.

Has interesting comparisons with prescription units, and both of these articles reference the study:

Smartphone-bundled earphones as personal sound amplification products in adults with sensorineural hearing loss]. (open access paper)

A $249 pair of wireless earbuds isn't cheap, but it's a more accessible than a $10,000 hearing aid.

I'm going to look into this. I thought I would have to learn to live with tinnitus due to the price factor. From what I see in the links it might be worth buying an iPhone and AirPods 2. I'll look into it more though.

Speaking for a friend.

I read somewhere that some people keep a song or songs echoing through their brain for the same, probably unconscious, reason.

Just choose good music if you can.
Mozart is great for this.

Same friend.

You might want to have a hearing test before you invest in OTC hearing aids.
