hello there

i’m sharing a post from my fb page, where ppl know me. i’m not sure how many blanks there r here for folks who dont know my trials and tribulations w this body. feel free to ask.

well, i got a new fitbit. have had a couple, mostly to keep an eye on my shitty sleep.
but at this point if i dont pay more attention to my health, i’m old and decrepit in no time. and for good. ugh. i’ve stayed away from the medical/industrial complex the last couple years. had some bad interactions early in the plague.

strangely, both of the docs that i had issues w abruptly retired. so i dont have to go through the whole switching thing. my pcp had another doc in the practice that i liked.
was interested to see that many of the rheumies they have now mention shogren’s as a focus, which is a totally new thing.
it took me almost 20 yrs to get a doctor to give me a name for the thing that has subtly f’d up my life, esp in the last 20 yrs. but rly going all the way back.
maybe these days they do more than treat the symptoms and pat u on the head.

i’ve put a whole lot of things in the- after i fix the money thing- basket. my health is the biggest thing in it. all else rests on that.
i’ve been pretty good about daily yoga for a while now. at the point where it is energizing instead of exhausting, which is HUGE. i used to have to find time not only to do it, but to take a nap after. my balance is good these days, too, which just makes me happy. and safer.
a course of hi-dose edibles in 2019 cleared out most of the leftover brain glitches from a childhood head injury. so a lot of things that have always been slightly off in my neuro function are gone. the worst of those was subtle muscle cramps. caused a lot of pain, esp post exercise, but just gone.
so i feel like i finally have a chance to get fit. the only symptom of fibro i have these days is the fatigue. almost zero pain these days, and no blowback from exercise. it’s amazing how much cramped feet can f up a yoga routine, but trust me, it does. i still get a tiny bit of cramping now and then, but nothing a light shift in position doesnt relieve. i dont trip over my own feet anymore. used to do it at least a couple times of year, all my life. havent done it in 3 yrs.

i thought a little moral support would help. so, hi all.
i’ll let u know how it goes.

I love that your yoga helps. I never would have made it without it the last four years. Really it got me through GWB and everything forward of that. 😂 Keep on keepin on! Love to you.

If you don't mind me asking, what is/was the dosage in your high dose edibles? I think I have some residual brain fog from my 2 head traumas in 2019. I tried the cbd edibles here but they are only 10 mg and didn't help.

i did 100 mg/day for about 4 mos, then 200 for 2 more.
here’s the thing tho. i do not get ‘high’. ever. from anything. it’s my suspicion that if there is scar tissue in my head, it’s at the spot u need for the euphoria.
after the injury, at 6, i had seizures in the form of hallucinations for a decade. diff kinds of seizures are based on where the injury is. so, i assume my seeing things means i broke the part where u see things.
so, i had no gauge. it did get the wheels turning a bit too fast. so i quit, but the improvements remained. not sure an ordinary human could function on those doses. and likely it’s overkill.
i also had to find a strain that worked for me. it’s those terpenes and stuff. i did the vape thing to find a good 1. when i found the strain that led to my organizing my bedside table, i knew i had a winner. 😜

i still smoke. it just feels safer to me than edibles that i cant gauge. it has it’s impacts, but…
i mix it w a bit of tobacco, but i kicked an additional pack a day habit w the new year. equiv of about 4-5 cigs a day. straight weed irritates my throat. that’s part of the shogrens, i think. so if i can get some treatment for that, i might be able to at least ditch the tobacco.

I was starting to cough a lot, and someone here recommended trying the dry herb vaporizer where you use straight flower, not oil. I got one for $35 from local smoke shop and it works for easing the coughing. I rarely cough when I smoke through it but almost always cough when vaping. It's a little more work, you have to grind it first, and can't load it with 1/2 gram and smoke away. They don't work as well when filled, need lots of air space to get good hits. So I grind my 1/2 gram then load it up in 1/3s to maximize the smoking efficiency.

Sorry you don't get high, but using the dry herb vaporizer definitely helps with the harshness.

I clean mine once a day, before I use it at night. I don't use it during the day, llike to go out on my deck to smoke and read there simply without having to bring out the brush or the grinder. It's great for the evening and night though, I can smoke in the house with zero smell and zero coughing. My mom, my grandmother on moms side, my grandfather on dads side and uncle and aunt on dads side all died from lung issues, so I figure it's worth the hassle.
