I cant get it. I'm not eligible. I can apply for it age 60 and one month. I need it.
I haven't felt this low for a long time.

(2,388 posts)I do not know the details of your case, but it took me three times before I was approved. I'm sure you heard before, but a lawyer is almost always needed. If you want, DM me.

(2,924 posts)I did the while SSI and stuff for LilBit and I. When I went VA office, everything started happening.
Our finances went from nothing to ok in a matter of weeks, and, out of nowhere, Fl Medicaid found someone to give 9 hours a week, and they will do personal care for her, cook, clean, bathe, etc.
Im cynical by nature, but all this happened so fast, when I visited the VA office.
If nothing else Xanadu, Take a hug from us.

(24,145 posts)Are they saying you can't even apply again until you're 60? Is there an appeal process?

(14,640 posts)Maybe i should have applied while working before quitting due to disability. It's on me, but I didn't know there was such a thing. I'm assuming a reduced benefit taking it at 60 + 1 month. I can't get the amount online. I've emailed the state again this morning.

(24,145 posts)Where you can actually go in and talk to an authority in person?
You may get better results.

(14,640 posts)Not sure my ancient car would make it. I've emailed the state again. One relief is they do correctly have my years of service. The online system shows me as not vested.
Ty for reading and responding

(64,777 posts)See if there is a phone number at the state retirement office you can call to connect with a person. There should be. You may have to sit on hold for a very long time, even hours, but eventually get through.
I doubt you caused this. It sounds like 60 might be the earliest age for early retirement and they may be overlooking that you are on disability.

(14,640 posts)I wanted to make sure there was no offset, which it appears not, thank goodness. Nope, I think I have to wait. I lose 15% at 60, but so be it

(14,640 posts)I should have applied when I was still employed before going out disabled. Thinking I screwed up not knowing how to do this, is making me feel 100% worse.
I can apply at 60 for a reduced amount.
It's very confusing

(51,308 posts)How could you possibly have known that?
XanaDUer2
(14,640 posts)I'm assuming hr saw it. The hr "analyst" doesn't answer her phone, rewritten calls, and is impatient but i think i screwed the pooch. Had I known, i would have tried to start the process while employed. If i knew i couldn't have done anything stupid, I'd feel better.

Do NOT blame yourself.

(6,632 posts)The entire game is rigged. They want you to pay into it or they will arrest you. Then, when you need it, they come up with a multitude of excuses and reasons as to why you can't get it. (Even as they salivate over how to divide the pot up once they remove the program for good.)
I would post my song 'They Lied' again, but you get the point.
