Stressed. Just went through Helene on a direct hit. Seems there could be another, next week.
I called th VA Crisis line, as instructed( no, I'm not suicidal) and was told a worker would be in touch.
And the crickets chirp, absolute silence

(814 posts)The stress and fear can replay in your head. Get a sedative from your vet for the kitten . Please do not watch the news right now because they replay the drama for eyeballs and it reinforces the trauma. Play a game , listen to music , watch an old movie preferably a comedy. I am not a counselor or psychologist but trauma and I are old friends and we have learned to get along.and people here care and will help, just give us time.

(838 posts)Is not OK. The person who said there would be a call back may not be aware of the number of
people and places without power now, and how that lack of capacity may be impacting the ability of the VA to respond. I am sure glad that you and your furry companion have weathered this storm physically. Recovering from trauma is rough going, and I wish you the best.
