Related: About this forum3am... My son just woke me from a nightmare that
I couldn't get myself out of 😭
He heard me trying to scream in my sleep over and over...
All I can remember was that I was trying to tell people that something was wrong, and nobody believed me! I kept saying that I needed help and nobody heard...
I clung to him and sobbed. My shirt was cold with sweat. I couldn't swim to the surface of consciousness...thank God he had his ' daddy' ears 1on listening for the baby...
Trauma sucks.

(6,630 posts)I am so sorry, but this is not a nightmare. That is the reality of today.
So glad you have someone to be there for you. Plenty do not.

(6,993 posts)I went through a period about 4 years ago when my nightmares happened almost every night. I got to the point where Id rather be awake and exhausted than asleep and terrified.
Peace and sleep!

(53 posts)Ive had some intense ones straight out of a body-horror novel. Medication helped. So glad you had someone there to help pull you out of yours. May the healing continue.
