(33,643 posts)Assuming I am reading you right, I tell ya ... the state of politics at this point is making me wish there was an easy way off this planet on more and more days ... GOP/Trump is destroying my mental health ... and my freaking liver.
And this not even remotely a light-hearted admonition, to be clear.

(1,588 posts)I've got to wonder if there isn't a better country to live in. Like I read the CBC news and get a kick out of some of the maritime news in Canada out of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. The big stories are nothing like what we have here. Yeah, they have a lot of political stuff if you read about what's going on in Toronto or Montreal or Vancouver, but up in the Northeast, it seems so quiet and lazy. I'm so wanting to move up there and just forget about everything. Prince Edward Island seems so nice because I'm not rich enough to have my own Island, but it's small enough, with only a few enough people, and only the one bridge in, that it's almost like being a world apart. We vacation there some and I forget about everything.
I just don't know what to believe any more with all the lies. It gets hard. Sometimes all you can do is just keep your head up and do what you can do for a better day. It will get there.

(34,450 posts)I have no current plans or any ability to do so. The lines that keep me& others alive can run pretty thin sometimes.

(10,420 posts)We're talking ten years. One of the ideas that kept me here is the fact that I'm going to have to leave some day no matter what. I might as well stick around and see what happens in the mean time. You know, sort of make an adventure out of it. Now days I'm of the mind set that I'm here for a purpose and I have work to do. There's no way I'm going to check out early- or you go back jack and do it again. Know what I mean? You might not believe in that, though.
Make no mistake about. I've been in a tremendous amount of pain in my life, but I've found a way to keep going in the here and now on this planet.
