(22,821 posts)I made a half recipe 2 days ago, with vanilla wafers, sliced bananas and French vanilla pudding. Topped with whipped cream. Thought I'd finish it early today, so it doesn't keep me awake tonight

Lemon honey vanilla Greek yogurt.
My cat disappeared last night. I walked every room of this house looking for him because sometimes he likes to hide in an obscure place to sleep.
I put out food and refreshed the litter box. I was hoping to see that hed used one of these things, but when I woke up this morning, he was still gone.
Since he has his own door, I was then afraid that he might have gotten the door stuck and been locked outside; that turned out not to be the case, however. It would have been very bad in this single digit weather.
I decided to check the basement, since I am having a new, second furnace installed as a backup. The installer has had to go to the basement to do some of the work, so I thought perhaps he might have locked Ollie in the basement.
I opened the basement door, and sure enough: meow, meow meow.
After a huge breakfast, a visit to the litterbox, and more meowing, he is now on the wool blanket on the corner of my bed.
Whew.

(77,979 posts)When workers are scheduled, pls lock him in your bedroom or somewhere safe until workers are done for the day.

(42,689 posts)If I had been able to do that: Pee on the bed. Oh yeah, this cat lets you know in memorable ways. Anywhere I would have locked him, he would have responded as such.
The worst part is that for the four years he's been my cat, I've kept him out of the basement. I did not even want him knowing it was there because for him, it would be a field day. It's the quintessential basement for a nearly 200-year old carriage house. Even has a crawl space off to the west of the house. I'm sure he had a blast there.
Now I can look forward to a future of him sitting by the basement door, meowing his head off to let him go there.
Can make you crazy
