DIY & Home Improvement
Related: About this forumIt's been kinda slow here so I thought I would post pics of my latest DIY (semi-pro) project.
My boyfriend and I remodeled our friends' kitchen last year. We opened the kitchen to the dinning room. But now the dinning room looked boring next to the new kitchen. We decided to convert the DR to a media/library room.
This is the closest to a "before" picture I have. A shot from the kitchen to the DR.

(3,426 posts)Very nice ! Very very nice ! Although I haven't pulled out a magnifying glass to spot flaws ,I wouldn't hesitate to rate your expertise pro grade !
I looked at some pictures you posted on a bathroom upgrade you were working on and at that time had just finished tiling a small bathroom in a house about to go up on market. The owner assisted in all the labor ,a retired mechanic who's dad was an old times carpenter ,he wanted to try his hand out at it,better he was at turning wrench's for sure, but his heart was into it !
I taught him how to run the tile saw and I must say he got good at making those cuts pretty quick.
We did a total tile in top of the tub wall to ceiling and half way up all the way around .
When it was finished, the tile phase we were having coffee admiring how it looked and
the old mechanic said you know, we shouldn't even bother to put the vanity and toilet in
because it will ruin the looks of the room and make smaller, maybe we call this room a reading room and we'll stick an out house in the back yard !
I think he was proud of himself .
You got a vanity with legs to show off the tile in your do over, I recall reading that in your post and getting a bit of a chuckle out it, you know showing off the tile ! I showed your post to the mechanic and he totally agreed with your point of view, myself, it's not about what I think ,it's about what the customer thinks or think they want !
Again nice work. !
On edit, I suppose it helps to turn a light on !
