Honestly, that and the wild morning glory could take over the world if we aren't careful! Add in some wild grape vines and we are in serious trouble.
At least that's been my experience. Fortunately I've kept it from growing on the garden shed and house.

(121,523 posts)You just can't let them grow on the siding of your house. My nemesis lately is wild river grapes, which have been climbing all over everything. If I can find a place for them where they won't take over, I'll harvest the grapes - you can make jelly, etc. with wild grapes. And don't get me started on the Virginia creeper and Canada moonseed, both of which are trying to eat my back porch.

(12,904 posts)I think they are about to grow up over the house. Very strong and vigorous vines.
But there is a tiny pumpkin growing right on the back porch. I think I will just carve my jack o lantern right there.

(27,354 posts)And, of course, MORE trumpet vine. I'm trying Brush Kill to see if that will stem the spread. I just squirt it on the stem, after I clip off the growth. That's what I use when I find poison ivy. I did just notice a little blister on my wrist - DAMN!!! I've tried to be so careful!! I'll rinse it with vinegar.
I just finished 3 hours of crawling around, cleaning up the garden fence line so the grape vine might just get a reprieve until tomorrow. It will be a little cooler and cloudy.
