I got the mower started and then had to deal with a flat front tire AND repair the blade height control lever. That was exhausting. I had no idea what to do so I just made it up as I went along. Seems to have worked.
Then I did the first mow of 2024. Since I didn't have anything ready for the trim work, I tried to mow as close as possible to trees and posts. Somehow I ended up STUCK on the curb - couldn't go forward or backward. I had to physically push the mower and move it just enough to be able to drive it on to the street and then up the driveway to get back on the lawn.
Oh, and I smashed my head in to the garage door. I thought it was open higher than it was.
I do believe that the sun is over the yard arm.

(14,669 posts)Out in the styx, it's just unpaved driveways and wild weeds/grass everywhere else.
So, I spray roads and areas near the home with some non-Roundup chemical.
My neighbor with the riding mower gets some large patches across from his home.
Must improve his view. I am grateful for his efforts.
Good luck with the mowing.

(5,750 posts)Gas for my ex's yard and electric for my yard. My truck is down right now so I planned ahead by hauling the gas mower to her carport. Her yard is much bigger so I wish I had a riding mower at her place. I can usually only do the front or the back per trip over there. I've just mowed her front yard so far this year, and that was long enough ago it's probably needing it again already. I did my yard Saturday and Sunday because it was supposed to rain all week, and I used the leaf bag to clean up from winter too.
I applaud you reaching your new level of incompetence in repairing the mower. We only learn about things when they screw up for us.
