Even a week ago I thought I was miles away from reaching this point. Hopefully I can convince the other two that they can trust me.

(5,478 posts)I found a home for one. It has reached a point where one lives inside with my older 3 cats and actually plays with one of them now. The mama and the two girls come in to eat. Mama and one of the girls lets me pet them. The other comes to me and meows when she wants out but hates to be touched so I don't try. She knows I won't hurt her, lets me know what she wants and being petted is not one of those things. Mama and the two girls always want out when it gets dark and don't come back until the next morning at the earliest. Sometimes mama and the girl that lets me pet her stay out for a day or so. I just worry what is going to happen to them when I am gone. I am sure the youngest ones will out live me.
Be patient. I know you don't push, but some cats are not into being touched. And if you haven't already, try to trap them long enough to get them neutered. All of mine were so I don't have to worry about having a cat colony on my hands.

(27,891 posts)I can't believe that an eye that looked so horrible was able to clear up without intervention. Ah, Mother Nature. Same with that bald spot - in another week you will never be able to notice.

(27,891 posts)The little gray one is still FAR to nervous to get too close but will play with a cat teaser or just a plan stick I wave along the ground.
Still haven't been able to find out the gender, yet.

(27,891 posts)He does a lot of self-initiated sniffing.
My goal is to instigate a purr.
