(10,491 posts)I know that he went after a long, happy life and he went loved with Mom & Dad by his side. It's an act of love and a blessing for him, as hard as it was for you. It's that point when they are suffering and we take on the suffering so they don't have to do it anymore - that is the hardest. But it is a final act of love.
I know that soon, his memory will be a blessing for you and your family.

(106,808 posts)If I learned anything from the dogs in my life--it is that one needs to treasure every single day. We may take the humans in our lives for granted sometimes, but our time with our beloved dogs and other pets is so compressed that there is no room for that. My anger melts when I look into my misbehaving pup's face or realize that there is a real need behind the inconvenient insistent wee-hours wakening from my now-aged girlie.
Seeing those photos, I'm sure you feel that way too and your good memories with Koda will sustain you through the pain.
I'm sorry, but also happy that your family experienced the best of a loving dog. Be with my beloved dogs who have passed before you, Koda.

(23,555 posts)beautiful tribute to koda has helped you as my album did me. I could then understand what a great life he had had and remember all the joy instead of the loss.

My heart goes out to you!
