(17,379 posts)This is a really bad development. Is that why so many cats have it? I need to study up on transmission; I had been assuming the cats were coming into contact with birds or bird droppings, or maybe drinking water from bird baths.
My dog likes to drink from the bird baths in the yard.

(93,505 posts)And this am is that cats are getting it from raw milk that was recalled but also, now, in food that has raw chicken.
This is bad and I hope it is quelled soon.
We're in for a repeat of 2020 if it isn't dealt with now.

Antibodies have shown up in hunting dogs who retrieved birds, so they apparently can get it if exposed. Wild foxes have become sick and died from it. I have not seen anything about serious illness in dogs or about them spreading this flu to each other, but probably best to be careful.
