(4,996 posts)Im embarrassed to say I cant remember which one. He was a die-hard republican. Hes been gone for 10 years or so, but recently Ive wondered with all the republican talk about camps etc how he would feel. He was appalled at the Germans and what they had done.

I saw a comment recently, possibly here that gave me a shiver. It was about how the hard Reich waited just enough time for veterans and others who lived through WW2 to be almost all gone .. before trying to implement an anti democratic, authoritarian regime. Let's hope that never happens! Thanks for the reply.
