Marijuana’s Medicinal Value Vindicated Once Again, This Time For The Elderly

Researchers from Tel Aviv University say that smoking a little marijuana could help provide dramatic relief for the elderly who suffer from a variety of chronic ailments.

The scientists tested the effects of marijuana treatment on 19 residents of the Hadarim nursing home in Israel. During the study, the participants reported dramatic physical results, including healthy weight gain and the reduction of pain and tremors.

During the nursing home study, 19 patents between the ages of 69 and 101 were treated with medical cannabis in the form of powder, oil, vapor or smoke three times daily over the course of a year for conditions like chronic pain, lack of appetite, and muscle spasms and tremors.

Seventeen of the study participants achieved a healthy weight during their use of marijuana and experienced a noticeable reduction in pain, muscle spasms, joint stiffness and tremors. Nearly all of the patients using cannabis slept better, longer and had a reduced incidence of nightmares and flashbacks related to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Why is cannabis illegal again? Oh yea, greed and money.

Its also a bit of envy that somehow someone else is getting a narcotic high, no matter how mild, and I'm not!...because I'm too scared by my phobia's, my fear of authority, or too intimidated by my religious overlords to actually try it myself, and I'll be damned if anyone else will be allowed to no matter how much medicinal benefit it gives them also.

Its never ever been about what you claim..
Since before Nixon.. Its been about Government Power to control the masses..
From Nixon to Reagan's hate for those who opposed them..
Those Hippies and Hoodlums out in their Faces Protesting the Administrations every self serving move... Nixon hedged the Governments position on Pot.. To the Point that this can only be changed with a act of Congress.. Scheduled the Plant by the DEA as a Schedule 1 drug.. The DEA was appointed by Nixon to develop Marinol as a substitute for Medical use only...Government Regulated and available today..
So the Plant is illegal but the Drug the DEA has extracted is not..
Then to claim the Plant has no Medial uses to this day also..

Couple of our patients a little round ball of a pill called Marinol, for appetite enhancement.

One vet, got it so he wouldn't sneak pot into the building.
And he had throat cancer so it was justified.

but not until big business is fully set up to produce and market it on a sufficiently large enough scale to meet demand. Big Tobacco will most likely take on the job. Until then we will get what's happening now. There is no way that all of a sudden small growers will be allowed to sell it legally except in limited jurisdictions because government wants to get in on the act with regulations and a taxation and corporations will make sure that small growers are considered illegal for one reason or another.
